Junjuwa Community

I grew up at the old camp in Burawa, near Fitzroy Crossing. When I was 8 years old, I moved to Perth to attend Mosman Park School for Deaf Children. Despite being hearing impaired, I never let it affect my quality of life, and I have fond memories of my childhood.
After high school, I returned to Fitzroy Crossing, where I have lived ever since.I began coming to Marnin Studio in 2022, and love being part of a community where I can create art alongside my family and friends.
I spend most of my time in the printmaking room, working on lino block prints that I carve myself. My art is inspired by my family and the life I live by the Fitzroy River. I am passionate about fishing, and I express this love through my artwork.
